SFT has
been used to instigate positive behaviour change within a
wide range of areas including mental illness, drug and alcohol
abuse, sexual abuse, marital conflict and violence. It adopts
the principle of minimal intervention thus reducing prolonged
therapy and a sense of dependency from clients.
SFT is
a practical, client centred technique focusing on a clients
competencies and strengths as opposed to their assumed deficits
and pathology.
This one
day course aims to explore the main skills needed to practice
Solution Focused Therapy and how to integrate these skills
successfully into existing practice.
Aims:

provide delegates with a comprehensive foundation to practice
solution focused therapy

the meaning of "The Miracle Question"

effectively provide therapy that is time-limited and cost
effective

integrate solution focused therapy into existing methods
of work

should attend?
Individuals
and volunteers who wish to increase their ability to engage
clients in a process of change whilst avoiding confrontation
and power struggles. Over a shorter period of time this technique
enables the worker to gain new insights into their clients
own solutions to their problems.
